TWPL Rules (TW Golf)

TWPL League Rules

Introduction

League rules are based on fair play and respect for your fellow owner. We are a community that has a primary goal to provide a medium for owners to have FUN while encouraging competitive play. The bottom line is to have FUN win or lose. Owners are expected to uphold principles of sportsmanship and fair play at all times and will refrain from running up the score. Communication is a building block for our leagues. We mandate the wearing of headsets during each league game and encourage conversation between owners. We are as much in this for the community building aspect as the competitive league play. Owners will be polite and refrain from the use of offensive or abusive language. This is not tolerated under any circumstances. Each owner will play fairly without the use of known glitches or cheats. Non-sportsmanship like behavior will result in your removal from the league. If owners do not respect the league, fellow owners, and its rules you will be removed. This is your warning so removal will be immediate. Everyone is required to read the rules.

General Rules

You must mimic a natural golf swing. You cannot pause or hold your swing while you search for the correct power. You may do so during practice swings prior to your shot but your actual shot must have your follow through come immediately after your backswing.

Remember you need someone to attest to your score for it to be official. You are free to play with whomever you want but this is a fun league so consider mixing it up a bit and playing with some members you are less familiar with.

When playing an official league round, confirm with your partner(s) that this is an official round. There may be situations where only one player is playing an official league round and the other is merely present to attest to the score. You may not begin a league round then declare that this is just a practice round midway if you are doing poorly. This is a difficult rule to enforce but we trust that you will be honest in this league.

The use of outfits that are not considered "sim", such as the spacesuit or the brown paper bag over your head are strictly prohibited and will result in your removal from the league.

If you suspect any cheating please utilize the Rules Violation Report. One player in your playing group will submit your round scores. A second member of your group will verify the scores. A thread will be created to submit round and verify round scores.

Golf Etiquette

Each player will refrain from any gamesmanship common in real golf. Do not speak or cough during the other player(s)' backswing. If any of your opponents' speak during your backswing simply ask that they do not do so in the future. if it continues to happen notify a commissioner after the round.

Headsets are mandatory - in addition, polite and casual conversation is expected during the round. If you do not speak during the round or do not have a mic your score will not be valid.

Tee Times

A thread on the forums called Tee Times will be setup. This area is for arranging official rounds with fellow members. You must play each round with another golfer who will attest your score.

Post the tournament and round with your available times in order to find a partner.

Disconnect Rules

For stroke play you must record the scores of all players in your group and confirm them with all players prior to teeing off at the next hole. Each player's score should be displayed in between holes during loading of the next hole. Do not hit 'a' to move forward to the tee blocks till the scores have been verbally confirmed by all players. If there is a disconnect you will continue playing after the last complete recorded hole. So if all but one player has putted out and the last player is about to sink his shot and a disconnect occurs then that hole is considered incomplete and you will begin scoring again on this hole. all players must have completed the hole for it to be officially recorded otherwise you will play that hole again if a disconnect occurs.
